Park City Ski Town Shoot Out > Homepage > Events > Park City Ski Town Shoot Out The 2009 Park City Ski Town Shootout was a massive success and we would like to thank all the players, coaches, officials, parents and volunteers that made it happen. Pictures from this year's tournament can be found at www.ustarpix.com or you can email Ustar Pix at kstrickland@media.utah.edu June 17-19, 2010 3/4th grade, 5/6th grade, 7/8th grade Boys 7/8th grade, 9-11th grade Girls Men's and Women's division Despite fast growth in the sport across the Western U.S., youth lacrosse teams have been hard-pressed to find tournaments within convenient travel distance. To meet this need, the Utah Lacrosse Association (ULA) launched the Ski Town Shoot Out in 2005. The organizing committee has secured discounts for local lodging. We encourage parents and players to stay the weekend and enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, and other recreational attractions, including Deer Valley, Park City Mountain Resort, the Canyons, and the Utah Olympic Park. PLAYER AGE/GRADE: The boys tournament has three brackets with between 6 and 16 teams participating in the 3/4th, 5/6th and 7/8th grade groups. Each boys team has a five-game schedule. Generally the schedule provides one game on Thursday afternoon and two each on Friday and Saturday.
Boys - $215 non-refundable team fee and $40 per player. Five-game schedule. Team deposit/registration due by May 21, 2010. Women's - $215 non-refundable team fee and $36 per player. Four-game schedule. Team deposit/registration due by May 21, 2010.
Most games take place on Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The tournament organizers will do their best to schedule games so that teams have uninterrupted time to enjoy Park City. Due to an anticipated sell-out of the tournament, field availability will be at a premium. While the organizers will attempt to accommodate requests for add-on "challenge" games, we cannnot guarantee these optional contests can be supported. SPORTSMANSHIP Celebrate the Game with us. In our opening ceremonies, players from each team participate in the "Running of the Balls," building a multicolored lacrosse ball pyramid. Each level of the pyramid represents the people involved in the game. The base is your teammates, followed by coaches, officials, opponents, and family. Throughout the event, we ask all participants to instill in the players a sense of honor, respect, and appreciation for the roots of the game. Lodging information can be found on the 'Sponsors' page |
